Once a bustling railyard, this site now serves as a nursery for the west coast’s sprawling timberlands. Flatbed trays planted with bio-diverse micro-ecosystems develop to maturity. Once mature they begin their great migration, in search of changing climates.

The Spirala Community is intrinsically connected to nature; they live and work everyday within the landscape. As such,the site was the first consideration for their community
home. Arid grasses and patches of shade-giving-trees are crucial to the experience at the Spirala Community Village, and we wanted their community home to foster deeper relationships with this natural surrounding.
